DHL Florstadt
Project description
The new logistics construction the capacity of DHL Supply Chain's multi-user Life Sciences & Healthcare (LSHC) campus for pharmaceutical and medical products in Florstadt, around 35 km north of Frankfurt am Main.
As a GoGreen Carbon Neutral Building, the building sets new standards in terms of energy saving and sustainability. In particular, the objective is supported by the use of fossil-free heat pump technology in combination with a photovoltaic system on the roof and a solar air system on the south façade. In combination with the roof structure made of regenerative timber materials and an above-average insulated building envelope, the building meets the criteria for the DGNB "Gold" sustainability certificate.
A wide range of technical features make it highly attractive for end users. The building has three temperature-controlled areas - ambient (15-25 °C), chilled (2-8 °C) and deep-freeze areas for temperatures as low as minus 24 °C.
"The fabrikon team was already deeply involved in the project even before the work was commissioned. The palpable enthusiasm for our project and the technical expertise ultimately tipped the scales in favour of implementing the construction of DHL Supply Chain's first "carbon neutral warehouse" in Europe with fabrikon and its partners."
