Hillwood Duisburg
Project description
On a brownfield site in western Duisburg—near the world's largest inland port— fabrikon acted as general contractor fabrikon construction project developer Hillwood to build this logistics property. The approximately 15,000 m² hall is divided into two units, with a total of twelve loading bridges, two jumbo bridges, and two ground-level gates. Deep courtyards on both sides allow for independent use.
The project required a comprehensive redevelopment of the industrial wasteland and a flexible construction process in which the removal of contaminated sites and new construction were precisely coordinated. The site was also equipped with extensive noise protection measures. With its proximity to the A 40 and A 59 motorways and its implementation in accordance with WHG standards, a sustainable location has been created in the middle of one of the most important freight handling centers in Central Europe.
"During project preparation, we as the customer are closely involved in all relevant coordination and decisions. Once everything has been clarified, the fabrikon team ensures that we can devote ourselves to other tasks with a clear conscience. Even spontaneous change requests from our tenants are implemented precisely during the construction phase."
